Purpose:
Perform dimensional and physical inspection of machined/ fabricated parts and assemblies, including first articles, in‐process and final inspection, as well as reporting and documentation in accordance with Quality Standards and Requirements.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Policy and Procedures Compliance:
- Responsibility to comply with quality standards (AS9100/ ISO9001) and programs and whenever necessary works with other departments to assist quality improvement programs. Maintain compliance with quality standards, such as quality policy, procedures, and work instructions;
- Responsibility to comply with the Company Business Conduct Standards such as work ethic; workmanship; policy, and rules and regulations;
- Responsibility to comply with the departmental procedures and work instructions;
Work Related:
- Responsible to travel to various supplier facilities to perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard;
- Responsible to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all customers’ requirements records on the AS9102 form;
- Independently verify inspection requirements and determine analytical procedures;
- Responsible to verify quality of work to tolerances, recognize defects and summarize results for customer reroute of non-conforming parts;
- Responsible to document inspection results in accordance with Company procedures and communicate results to Quality Control Supervisor;
- Provide hands-on training to production personnel on use of developed measurement techniques as a result of verification of the first article piece;
- May assigned other tasks as required;
Requirements/ Qualifications:
Work Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of mechanical inspections experience;
- Experience in the machine shop environment is a plus;
Work Related Skills:
- FAIR – First Article Inspection Reporting is mandatory;
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) is mandatory;
- Ability to develop measurement techniques is mandatory;
- Ability to utilize all mechanical Standard Measuring Equipment;
Soft Skills:
- Good communication and team work skills;
- Must have good physical strength, stamina, good eyesight;
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds without any equipment assistance;
- Strong in math and computer skills;
Education:
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or equivalent is a plus;
Citizenship:
- § Must be US person;
- U.S person as define by ITAR (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S permanent resident, or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
